Awareness is a project of material experiment, and mycelium network simulation.
Each egg-shape bulb represents an individual fungus with consciousness. The fungus will be aware when people approach, and the light inside it will change from breathing in its own pattern, to blinking. Also, the projection content in the background will change from fungus & mycelium life, to the human-related footages (contamination, oil spill, mycoremediation).
The goal of this project is to pull closer humans’ relationship with fungus, increase awareness, and also explore the usage of mycelium.
