{"id":2258,"date":"2015-02-10T23:48:43","date_gmt":"2015-02-11T04:48:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jhclaura.com\/?p=2258"},"modified":"2015-11-20T17:15:42","modified_gmt":"2015-11-20T22:15:42","slug":"thesis-reconstruct","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.jhclaura.com\/thesis-reconstruct\/","title":{"rendered":"Thesis Reconstruct"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After talking to Gabe, I knew it&#8217;s time to force myself to answer hard question to find the motivation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Why Nonsense?<\/h2>\n<p>The origin of the idea arose from the research of phrase <em>&#8220;down the rabbit hole&#8221;<\/em>, leading me to <em>Alice&#8217;s Adventures in Wonderland<\/em>, of\u00a0<strong>Literature Nonsense<\/strong>, which\u00a0deeply inspired me with its description:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8230; The nonsense world, on the other hand, has no system of logic, although it may imply the existence of an inscrutable one, just beyond our grasp.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Invisible, obscure logic, ridiculous but not annoyed. Bumping into this kind of things is\u00a0like having current to flow from bottom to top of my body, and dipping my brain into bubbling soda. Nonsense is an indispensable catalyst to daily life. \u00a0Its open-ended character lets\u00a0imagination grows. It&#8217;s how I\u00a0got\u00a0inspired and motivated, and I want to create Nonsense\u00a0too.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Thesis reconstruct<\/h2>\n<p>After reviewing previous projects in ITP and seeing repetitive\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #ff366b;\">helmet<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0related projects:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>introvert<\/li>\n<li>because of lack of confidence, afraid of ppl looking at my face (heavy self-awareness)<\/li>\n<li>shelter \/ lense \/ armor to approach world \u2192 saver<\/li>\n<li>as another identity \u2192 braver<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And asking myself those questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Why ITP?<\/strong> &#8211;&gt;\u00a0Not only animation.\u00a0Because ITP is <span style=\"color: #ff3b79;\">more than pure graphics<\/span> and that\u00a0excited me a lot, e.g. Puppet class, Codes to make non\u00a0traditional unchangeable\u00a0linear animation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>What did I learn?<\/strong> &#8211;&gt; Code; ability to <span style=\"color: #ff3b79;\">realize<\/span> the ideas both visually and physically; build stuff based on imagination; <span style=\"color: #ff3b79;\">be social<\/span>; quest for deep thoughts and share with others (but still not good at); be insincere; hug; <span style=\"color: #ff3b79;\">loneliness<\/span> control<\/li>\n<li><strong>What should I do but I didn&#8217;t?<\/strong> &#8211;&gt; Be more\u00a0social; stop avoiding conversations; stop being too pragmatic to choose classes; social\u00a0hacking stuff to help ppl conquering <span style=\"color: #ff3b79;\">social\u00a0awkwardness<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>What do I want to come out with from\u00a0ITP?<\/strong> &#8211;&gt; Dream realization; the method how I conquer social\u00a0awkwardness; positive impact like a seed; something funny, <span style=\"color: #ff3b79;\">lighthearted<\/span>, and <span style=\"color: #ff3b79;\">weird<\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here I tried to depict a less obscure\u00a0map\u00a0for my thesis. <strong>Under the realm of Nonsense, I want to make something that will assist\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff427b;\">introverts<\/span> approaching this world, and it can also be a channel to providing introversion moments, e.g. being isolated,\u00a0observant, and\u00a0analytical<\/strong>. Along with the description of introversion-extraversion on Wiki:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;&#8230; Humans are complex and unique, and because introversion-extraversion varies along a continuum, individuals may have a mixture of both orientations.
